I am a transplanted Yankee now living in Texas and working at My U. I am a playwright and theatre historian, a Francophile and coffee addict, and the companion (slave) to the world's most personable cat, Jack. Before I became an academic, I was a publicist for two publishers and scheduled book tours, national appearances, and interviews for authors like Clive Barker, Barbara Cartland, David Morrell, Stephen Birmingham, and Linda Ellerby. I planned parties at Studio 54 (after the heyday) and the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Before that, I was a hippie kid building a Barbie commune in Woodstock (and yes, we lived there during the festival...all of 'em). I ask myself every day, "What is the life of the mind"? Maybe I'll figure it out here.
